LOOK FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE CASSIDY CLARKE SERIES, THE LOST ANGELS, IN APRIL 2026 FROM THOMAS AND MERCER/AMAZON!
The Cassidy Clarke Series from Thomas and Mercer/Amazon follows new 'boot' Cassidy Clarke, who joins the LAPD, following in the footsteps of her father, brilliant but controversial homicide detective Bill Clarke. Forced into retirement, Bill is a jaded, old school style cop in a changing world. Cassidy is idealistic and eager to be part of a new, modern, progressive police department trying to repair its tarnished image. Bill's final case involves a serial killer duo, dubbed The Hollywood Hit Men by the sensationalist press; two violent predators who are terrorizing young women in the sprawling city. Reluctantly, Bill must pass the baton to his young replacement, Detective Judson Postiff, and when Cassidy happens to arrest one of the Hit Men on a routine call, she is thrust into a high stakes investigation that puts her at the center of internal police power plays. And in the sights of a distrubed murderer. As she struggles to navigate this uncertain territory, Bill faces a difficult transition, losing the thread of purpose in his life and the dangerous places that takes him. A father/daughter thriller, two generations of LAPD cops, wanting to do their best but forced into compromises that test their faith and family.
Michele had a very busy 2025, with two book series deals, from Storm Publishing in the U.K. and Thomas and Mercer/Amazon in the U.S.!
"It was a very crazy, mind bending kind of year...very demanding writing schedules and deadlines to meet, while often working on two manuscripts simultaneously. I want very much as an author in this genre, to develop my characters fully so they read like real people, with complex and conflicting emotions. The plot is driven by the characters' needs and fears, their strengths and weaknesses... rather than having them do things to advance the plot. I aways want then to resonate on an emotional level with my readers so I kind of lose myself sometimes in their stories and struggles. Which makes transitioning from "writer mode" to "single mom of a teenager mode" rather challenging with school commutes and schedules, running a home, pets to the vet and all the rest! But in the end, I am quite happy with the way all the books came out, in both series and I hope my readers enjoy them. This is the best job in the world!"
